Punta Cana International Airport: Gateway to Paradise

Punta Cana International Airport is a privately owned commercial airport located in Punta Cana, eastern Dominican Republic. Built in 1984 by Grupo PuntaCana, the airport features open-air terminals adorned with palm frond roofs, reflecting the local culture.

With over 5.1 million annual passenger movements and nearly 60,000 commercial aircraft operations, it serves as a crucial hub for travelers. In November 2011, the airport expanded with a new runway and Air Traffic Control tower to accommodate the growing influx of visitors. By 2014, it accounted for 60% of all air arrivals in the Dominican Republic.
